Key Excerpts on the Citizenship Act of 2026:

Sen. Jim Banks (R-Ind.): "Well, the Supreme Court in their ruling made it very clear what all nine Supreme Court Justices believe. The ones on the left and the ones on the right is that the babies of invaders are not eligible for birthright citizenship… So that's why I introduced the Citizenship Act in the Senate; Brandon Gill introduced it in the House… a quarter of a million babies every year are born to illegal immigrants in our country and granted citizenship. That is wrong, it is unfair, and we should stop it."

"We don't need a Constitutional amendment; we can do this with a simple act of Congress to declare an invasion and say these invaders are not eligible and stop what I think is detrimental to the future of our country. And I'm doing everything that I can to stop it."

Key Excerpts on the Filibuster :

"The 60-vote threshold in the Senate blocks us from doing anything that the voters want us to do. Count me in the category as one of the new young Senators in America who wants to get rid of the ridiculous filibuster rules… I say nuke the filibuster and pass this bill right away because our country is not going to last if we don't do it. Throw the Senate traditions out the window; I'm sick and tired of tradition. I want to fight for America; that's why I ran for the United States Senate and the Citizenship Act is worth changing the rules."
