Metzgar, Stefano to Host Veterans Appreciation Breakfast

SOMERSET - Rep. Carl Walker Metzgar (R-69) and Sen. Pat Stefano (R-32) will host a free breakfast for veterans on Friday, Nov. 7, at the Somerset American Legion Post 181, 126 Main St. in Somerset, to thank them for their service to our nation.

The event begins with registration at 8:30 a.m. and breakfast will be served at 9 a.m.

"I really look forward to this event every year because it's a great chance to personally thank our veterans for their service and the sacrifices they've made for our country," Stefano said. "It's also a time to sit down and get an understanding about what current issues matter most to them."

The event will allow Somerset County veterans to connect with other local veterans and learn about the services the senator's and representative's offices can offer for state-level assistance.

Ron Marsh, director of veteran services for Somerset County, will serve as the keynote speaker and share valuable insights on available benefits and ways to access support programs for veterans and their families.

"A nation's strength is measured not only by the battles it fights, but by how it cares for those who fought them," said Metzgar. "Supporting our veterans ensures that those who defended our country are never left to stand alone. I look forward to catching up with everyone and discussing how we can continue supporting them in Somerset County and Harrisburg."
