DES MOINES, IOWA - Monday, November 17, 2025 - The City of Des Moines Community Impact & Relations department has launched a new learning series designed to help community members collectively find ways to spark an impact in our community.
This year-long learning and engagement opportunity welcomes the community to attend monthly events designed to inspire connection, engagement, and impact. Participants can expect to dive into thought-provoking topics, explore unique perspectives, hear from dynamic speakers, and engage in hands-on activities.
"These monthly interactive, hands-on events are intended to offer collective learning and ideation opportunities throughout our community on different topics that impact our residents," Community Relations Specialist Holly Wilkens said. "We hope people walk away from the series with meaningful connections, new ideas and appreciation for resources and services offered in our community."The first event of the series will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Breaking In, Leveling Up: A Young Professionals Career Forum invites young professionals living or working in Des Moines to connect, learn, and envision the next steps in their careers. All are welcome to hear from this inspiring panel and take part in a collective career board workshop.
Community members can pick up an Impact Pass at the first event they attend. Participants who attend all 12 events in the Collective Impact Learning Series will be recognized at the end of the year for their commitment to sparking an impact in our community.
