On June 22, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan H.E.Muhammad Ishaq Dar. They exchanged views on bilateral relations and the regional situation.
DPM&FM Dar shared the latest developments of the talks between Iran and the United States in Switzerland, and expressed sincere gratitude to China for its firm support for Pakistan's mediation efforts. He noted that the four-point proposition put forward by President Xi Jinping offers a Chinese approach for achieving lasting peace and stability in the Middle East and the Gulf region, and that the China-Pakistan Five-Point Initiative has provided important support for Pakistan's mediation efforts. Pakistan stands ready to continue deepening the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperation, maintain close communication and coordination with China, and jointly play a bigger role in realizing lasting peace and stability in the region.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong commended Pakistan's unremitting mediation efforts and expressed that China attaches great importance to deepening the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. China is ready to continue working with Pakistan to implement the four-point proposition put forward by President Xi Jinping and the China-Pakistan Five-Point Initiative, encourage all relevant parties to uphold dialogue and negotiation, and restore peace and tranquility in the region at an early date.
