Chinese Embassy in The Gambia Hosts the 10th China-Gambia Bantaba Themed “Up and Out of Poverty: Chinese Experience and Global Endeavor”

On December 22, the Chinese Embassy in The Gambia hosted the 10th China-Gambia Bantaba themed "Up and Out of Poverty: Chinese Experience and Global Endeavor". H.E. Ambassador Liu Jin attended the event, along with various Gambian guests who had recently completed poverty alleviation-themed exchange programs in China, including the Director of Press and Public Relations of Office of President, members of the National Assembly, local officials, party leaders, and the Chairman of TANGO.

H.E. Ambassador Liu presented the guests with books of Eradicating Poverty and Up and Out of Poverty. H.E. Ambassador Liu introduced China's poverty reduction experience, drawing on the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, taking the targeted poverty alleviation efforts by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in two counties in Yunnan Province as a case study. He also highlighted the achievements of poverty reduction cooperation between China and other Global South countries such as The Gambia, emphasizing China's readiness to strengthen exchanges on governance with The Gambian side and work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

The Gambian participants shared their observations from their visit to China, speaking highly of China's historic achievement in eradicating poverty and its significant contribution to global poverty reduction. They also shared China's successful experience and engaged in discussions on exploring a poverty reduction path suited to The Gambia's realities based on China's experience.
