Joint Release with Singapore Tourism Board
Singapore Airlines (SIA) today unveiled its new in-flight safety video, which creatively presents essential safety features while taking customers on a journey around Singapore's diverse and vibrant landmarks, neighbourhoods, and communities.
Produced in collaboration with Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the video features SIA's cabin crew visiting notable landmarks including the Esplanade, Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa, Lau Pa Sat, and Jurong Lake Gardens. They engage with local communities including a lion dance [1] troupe, Kolam[2] artists, Silat[3] practitioners, and members of an aqua aerobics team, who help to demonstrate the in-flight safety procedures.
The video combines real-life footage with watercolour effects, inviting viewers to discover Singapore's rich multicultural heritage and visual arts scene. The artistic treatment draws inspiration from Singapore's vibrant arts landscape, reflected in iconic murals throughout the city that depict its history and culture.
Mr Vinod Kannan, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing, Singapore Airlines, said: "This video creatively presents vital safety information while showcasing Singapore's vibrant and diverse cultures, sights, and communities. Safety remains our absolute priority, which is why each scene was carefully designed to reinforce these essential safety messages. We hope the video resonates with Singaporeans and Singapore residents, evoking a sense of home whenever they watch it on board, while giving visitors a compelling introduction to our beautiful island state and its myriad attractions."
Mr Kenneth Lim, Assistant Chief Executive, Marketing Group, Singapore Tourism Board, said: "Singapore Airlines' new in-flight safety video celebrates Singapore's diverse communities and rich culture. This strategic partnership allows us to showcase Singapore's distinct character to millions of travellers worldwide, while reinforcing our position as a preferred destination for both business and leisure."
The new in-flight safety video can also be viewed on SIA's Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and YouTube channels from 4 September 2025. It will progressively be screened on all SIA flights from the end of October 2025. Further details about the video can be found in Annexe A.
[1] Lion dance is a pugilistic performance dating back to more than 1,500 years. Its performance during auspicious occasions, such as the launch of new businesses and shops, is believed to bring good fortune and wealth.
[2] Kolam, which means 'form' in Tamil, is a decorative floor drawing usually made from coloured flour, and is used for ornamental or ceremonial design during traditional Indian festivities.
[3] Silat is a combative art of self-defense and survival rooted in the Malay Archipelago.

THE NEW SINGAPORE AIRLINES IN-FLIGHT SAFETY VIDEO
The new Singapore Airlines in-flight safety video opens with a panoramic view of Gardens by the Bay, before transitioning to the Cloud Forest where the Airline's cabin crew members warmly welcome customers on board.
The video moves to Jurong Lake Gardens, a 90-hectare national garden in Singapore's western heartlands, where SIA's cabin crew meet a lion dance troupe during practice.
The lion dance performers demonstrate take-off and landing safety procedures, which include securing tray tables, positioning seats upright, keeping their shoes on, and stowing cabin baggage under seats or in the overhead compartments.
In the following scene, a family enjoys a park outing while riding a quad bicycle. They demonstrate how to fasten seat belts securely, lift infants from the bassinets, and secure infant seat belts.
The video then showcases Singapore's iconic high-rise public housing estates, home to the majority of the country's population. Viewers enter a residential unit where a family gathers around a dining table for a durian feast. They demonstrate oxygen mask procedures for emergency situations.
The journey continues to an open space beneath an apartment block, where two Kolam artists use coloured rice flour to create an intricate masterpiece featuring SIA's iconic batik motif. The artwork creatively illustrates aircraft emergency exits.
At Tanjong Beach in Sentosa, an oasis of tranquillity away from mainland Singapore's hustle, SIA's cabin crew meet Singapore's national Silat team during their practice. Team members demonstrate the brace position and emergency evacuation procedures.
The next scene takes viewers to Village Hotel Sentosa's swimming pool, where hotel guests explain the location of aircraft life vests, demonstrate their proper use, and how to board a safety raft. An aqua aerobics group then forms the shape of a safety raft during their synchronised training. The scene continues to demonstrate the proper use of the evacuation slide.
Viewers then visit Lau Pa Sat, a historic food centre in the heart of Singapore's financial district, where diners enjoy iconic local dishes. Here, SIA's cabin crew emphasise the importance of stowing large electronic devices and refraining from charging them during taxi, take-off, and landing.
The scene continues as a diner drops a mobile phone. When a cabin crew member returns it to the diner, viewers are reminded not to adjust their seats if their device falls through the gaps and seek assistance to retrieve it instead.
The camera then pans to a satay stall, where barbecue smoke visually reminds viewers that smoking, and the charging and use of e-cigarettes, are prohibited on board the aircraft.
In the final scene, SIA's cabin crew gather at the Esplanade rooftop to thank viewers for their attention and direct them to the safety card in their seat pockets for more information. The camera pans out from the Esplanade, and the video concludes with an aerial view of Singapore's night skyline.
