Fort Providence Evacuation All-Clear September 11, 2025 12:00 pm
The wildfire emergency affecting the community of Fort Providence is now under control and the hazard area has been declared safe. The evacuation order is no longer in effect, but conditions will continue to be monitored.
Residents are advised to report to the Hay River Community Centre for information on the community re-entry plan and transport arrangements. Residents will also be advised of services available, precautions, and instructions on dealing with impacts of the emergency. For updates, go to the GNWT Public Safety webpage.
