Cone Zone Alert: New Sidewalk Coming to Cathedral Canyon Drive – June 15-26, 2026

The City of Cathedral City's Public Works Department is alerting residents, business owners, and commuters to upcoming sidewalk construction on Cathedral Canyon Drive, running Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 26, 2026.

S&H Civilworks will be constructing a new sidewalk on the west side of Cathedral Canyon Drive between Paseo Azulejo and Kieley Road, creating a safer path for pedestrians along this important corridor.

When and Where

Project Dates: Monday, June 15 - Friday, June 26, 2026

Work Hours: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays)

Location: West side of Cathedral Canyon Drive, from Paseo Azulejo to Kieley Road

What Drivers Can Expect

Drivers should expect intermittent lane closures on Cathedral Canyon Drive throughout the project. Please reduce speed in the Cone Zone, watch for workers and equipment, and allow extra travel time.

Driveway and Emergency Access

S&H Civilworks will make every effort to keep driveways to all residences and businesses open at all times, but there may be moments when a driveway is temporarily inaccessible. Emergency vehicles and all other essential services will have access throughout the duration of the project.

A Safer Walking Path Ahead

This sidewalk project is part of the City's ongoing investment in pedestrian safety and walkable streets. Once complete, the new sidewalk will provide a continuous, safer route along the west side of Cathedral Canyon Drive between Paseo Azulejo and Kieley Road.

The City appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents and businesses during construction to help the project run as smoothly as possible.
