Last week, during an official ceremony at the Federal Darwish Training Centre in Mogadishu, the Somali Police Force (SPF) accepted a significant donation of policing equipment to enhance their capabilities from EUCAP Somalia, in support of the SPF's critical work to ensure safety to the public and increase stability in the country.

The SPF Police Commissioner, General Asad Osman Abdullahi, and EUCAP Somalia's Head of Mission, Kęstutis LanĨinskas, signed a donation agreement to support capacity building of the Somalia Police Force's activities and operational work. Donated items included robust utility vehicles, ambulances, tents, camp beds, sleeping bags, protection gear, rain ponchos, and sandbags. Other items such as flashlights, search mirrors, tents, shovels, stretchers, plates, plate carriers, and safety cutters were also included.

With this donation, the Mission and SPF reconfirm their longstanding relationship and fruitful cooperation in enhancing Somalia's law enforcement capabilities.
