The Georgia Department of Natural Resources' Coastal Resources Division (CRD) will temporarily close the Village Creek Boat Ramp on South Harrington Road on St. Simons Island on Tuesday, Jan. 27, and Wednesday, Jan. 28, to complete needed repairs at the end of the ramp.
CRD is coordinating with a contractor to address a hole at the toe of the ramp. Repairs will include filling the hole with rock and installing an articulating concrete mat across the end of the ramp to improve stability and safety for boaters.
During the closure, the Mackay River Boat Ramp off the Torras Causeway will be available as a launch option on St. Simons Island. A full list of boat ramps is available at CoastalGaDNR.org/AllBoatRamps.
CRD appreciates the public's patience as these repairs are completed and encourages boaters to plan accordingly during the temporary closure.
For updates or additional information, please check CRD's communication channels.
