San Rafael residents have a new opportunity to learn and improve their pickleball skills with indoor clinics now offered at the Albert J. Boro Community Center through Pickleball Organized.
The new program includes classes for both beginner and intermediate players, providing a welcoming environment for adults to learn, play, and connect with others through one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.
The Adult Beginner Pickleball clinic is designed for players who are new to the sport. Participants will learn the fundamentals of pickleball, including game rules, serving and returning, dinking, shot techniques, scorekeeping, and court positioning. By the fourth session, players will have the skills needed to participate in real games. Organizers encourage participants to attend all four sessions, as lessons build on skills learned each week and make-up classes are not available.
For those with previous playing experience, the Adult Intermediate Pickleball Skills and Drills clinic focuses on advanced techniques and game strategy. Topics include advanced dinking, third-shot selection, drops, drives, volleys, resets, footwork, transitions, and the mental side of the game. Each class features a new area of focus along with game-situation coaching.
Both clinics will be taught by Pickleball Organized instructor Jeff Marquis, a Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) Certified Instructor.
Multiple clinic dates and times are available. First clinic starts July 7, 2026.
