  • October 26, 2026

Members of the Maine Art Collective (MAC) Gallery, 9 Moulton St., in Portland's Old Port area, are having a pop-up show at the Dodwell Gallery, in the Learning Center on Fern Avenue, on Long Island, Maine from October 23to December 11, 2026. The MAC artists are Ann Tracy, Cheryl Seavey, David Katz, Laurie Russo-Smith, Lynn Ericson, Mika Sato, Pamela Browne, Sheri Oliva, Stacey Lodato, Sue Vittner, and Tracy Hehmeyer. See more of their work at https://maineartcollective.com/.

Founded in 2021 by Sue Vittner, the Maine Art Collective brings together a thriving community of more than 50 Maine artists across three gallery locations (two in Portland and one in Ogunquit). Its mission is to make art more accessible and affordable while providing emerging artists with meaningful opportunities to exhibit and sell their work. The collective represents a wonderful range of creative talent, including painters, photographers, digital artists, potters, jewelers, fiber artists, glass blowers and woodworkers.

The Dodwell Art Gallery is open Monday, Wednesday Friday 9:30 - 11:30AM; Tuesday closed; Thursday 6:30-8:00PM; Saturday 10:00AM-12:00PM; and Sunday 11:00AM-1:00PM. More information can be found at https://townoflongisland.us/library/.

"It seems like serendipity", said Katz, who along with Tracy is organizing the effort. "Dodwell co-curator, Barbara Sullivan came into the gallery as Ann and I were changing shifts for gallery sitting. We were both excited to be able to help with this opportunity for MAC artists to share their work with the Long Island community."

The Dodwell Art Gallery is part of the Long Island Community Library and dedicated to enriching the Long Island community by providing access to a diverse and inspiring range of artistic expression. Through the celebration of art and culture, the gallery seeks not only to foster creativity and connection, but also to support the library by raising vital funds to ensure its continued role as an enduring educational and cultural resource for all ages.
