Motorcyclist Deceased Following Crash in the Brooklyn Neighborhood

A motorcyclist was killed after a crash on Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard Saturday morning, and the PPB Major Crash Team is investigating

On Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 6:48 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to a report of a crash at Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard at Southeast 17th Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a motorcyclist deceased at the scene. Initial investigation indicates the rider was northbound and collided with a northbound van, then struck a pole. The driver of the van remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division Major Crash Team responded to the scene to investigate the crash. During the investigation, Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard was closed between Southeast Harold Street and Southeast 17th Avenue. The on-scene investigation has wrapped up and the street reopened about 10:00 a.m.

No arrests were made or citations have been issued at this time.
