UHCL celebrates a decade of STEM innovation with 10th Annual Conference

The 10th Annual Greater Houston Area STEM Conference, held March 28 at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, brought together educators and STEM leaders for a full day of learning, collaboration, and innovation. The milestone event celebrated a decade of growth for one of the region's most established STEM education conferences, featuring nearly 80 sessions, 41 exhibitors, and welcoming K-16 educators, university faculty, students, alumni, and industry partners from across Greater Houston and beyond, including presenters and exhibitors traveling from Idaho, Milwaukee, and the Philippines.

"The Greater Houston Area STEM Conference represents more than professional learning. It is a decade-long commitment to collaboration, innovation, and the building of a stronger STEM community," said Dr. Carol Waters, UHCL associate professor of STEM education and conference organizer. "Over the years, it has become a cornerstone for STEM education in our region, bringing together educators, students, and community partners to share ideas, inspire growth, and strengthen our collective impact."

Dr. Brenda Weiser, professor emeritus at UHCL, delivered the welcome address. Dr. Weiser helped found the conference alongside Dr. Michelle Peters 10 years ago, and her return to open this milestone celebration honored the vision, leadership, and community partnerships that launched the conference, making it a meaningful full-circle moment for attendees.
