Human Trafficking Suspect and Fugitive Arrested Thursday Night on Woodland Street

Outstanding coordination between TITANS Unit detectives, MNPD SWAT, and Davidson County District Attorney's Office investigators led to Thursday night's arrest of human trafficking suspect/fugitive Kyree Jackson, 27, and the mother of his child, Isabel Gallego, 19, for local outstanding warrants.

Jackson, a convicted felon for motor vehicle theft in California, was wanted for outstanding warrants in both California and Oregon. He is believed to have trafficked Gallego when she was 17 after a report was filed by her parents in Sacramento.

Jackson also had local outstanding aggravated assault and especially aggravated kidnapping warrants following a domestic disturbance call in December where he was heard by responding officers threatening to kill Gallego after physically assaulting her. Officers forced entry into her Woodland Street apartment where she was found unconscious in the bathroom. Jackson jumped out of the third-story bathroom window to evade police. Gallego and their 8-month-old son were transported to the hospital.

Gallego was given several resources to obtain shelter and an order of protection by MNPD Domestic Violence Division detectives, Department of Children's Services and the District Attorney's Office. After failing to respond and continuing to allow Jackson into her home, the District Attorney's Office swore out a warrant earlier this week charging Gallego with aggravated child endangerment.

TITANS Unit detectives arrested Jackson and Gallego after they were seen walking on Woodland Street Thursday night with their son. Jackson, who attempted to flee, was in possession of a stolen handgun equipped with a switch making it a fully automatic weapon, as well as pills that tested positive for methamphetamine.

Jackson was charged with being a fugitive from justice, theft of a firearm, evading arrest, felony weapon possession, being a felon in possession of a weapon, and drug possession as well as his outstanding warrants. He remains in custody on $302,500 bond.

Gallego was booked on her outstanding warrant and remains in custody in lieu of $75,000 bond.
