ODOT seeking public comments on upcoming projects

SIDNEY (Monday, September 22, 2025) - The Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 is seeking public comments regarding the following projects:

Ft. Recovery Pedestrian Improvements, PID 122263 - The Village of Ft. Recovery proposes to upgrade pedestrian facilities at the intersections of Butler Street at First & Third Streets and to install a new sidewalk facility at the access drive the to elementary & middle schools. The project is intended to improve pedestrian access for walking students. Construction is expected to begin in Summer 2027.

SR 197-4.22 Right-of-Way Acquisition, PID 116493 - ODOT proposes to acquire right-of-way at an existing culvert system (MER-197-0422, CFN 1861552) in Center Township, Mercer County. The project is necessary to bring the culvert system fully into the public right-of-way and allow for the necessary replacement and future maintenance of the culvert.

Broadway Street Improvements, PID 119367 - PROJECT UPDATE: The Village of Covington proposes to reconstruct a segment of Broadway Street, from east of the Stillwater River to just east of North High Street. In addition to these previously detailed improvements, the Village has decided to include full-depth pavement repairs of Broadway Street, from just east of High Street to Larry Avenue. Construction is expected to begin Spring 2028.

US 36 at SR 721 Intersection Improvements, PID 118070 - PROJECT UPDATE: After consideration of public input, ODOT has decided to move forward with the recommended preferred alternative to convert the intersection of US 36 and SR 721 to a modern, single-lane roundabout. A summary of comment received and ODOT's responses has been posted at the Project Page for PID 118070. Construction is expected to begin Spring 2027.

Salem Avenue Improvements Phase 6, PID 119363 - The City of Dayton proposes to reconstruct Salem Avenue from Elsmere Avenue to Benson Avenue and from just east of Victoria Avenue to Litchfield Avenue. The project is necessary to address deteriorated roadway infrastructure and improve pedestrian access. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2028.

State Route 119 Bridge Maintenance, PID 116920 - ODOT proposes to undertake maintenance activities on the State Route 119 Bridge over White Feather Ditch in Van Buren Township, Shelby County. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2027.
