Kim Kamin, Chief Wealth Strategist at Gresham Partners LLC, presented "Charitable Giving with Noncharitable Trusts" for the 44th Annual Kansas City Estate Planning Symposium. This presentation shared information about how estate planners can help clients consider when it might be desirable to tap into noncharitable trusts for charitable giving. The discussion included (i) overview of relevant tax laws, (ii) suggestions for how to utilize existing irrevocable trust assets for desired or obligatory gifts to charity, and (ii) ideas for what to include in new trusts to promote flexibility for future family philanthropy.
