Congresswoman April McClain Delaney Releases Statement on Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Agreement

Washington, DC-Congresswoman April McClain Delaney (MD-06) released the following statement this morning on the negotiated peace agreement between Israel and Hamas:

"Two years after Hamas's horrific attack on October 7, 2023, this ceasefire agreement marks a long-awaited moment for Israel, the Palestinian people, and the world. The return of hostages offers a path toward peace, security, and relief for all those who have endured unimaginable pain.

"I am grateful for the determined diplomacy of the American and international partners who helped bring all sides into agreement. Hamas must never again threaten Israel or hold innocent civilians captive under its rule, and the full implementation of this agreement must be closely monitored. This means ensuring that every hostage is safely returned, that humanitarian aid reaches those in need and that Hamas is permanently disarmed.

"As this agreement takes hold, my heart is with the hostages returning home, the families who never gave up hope, and the countless innocent Israelis and Palestinians who have suffered during these long two years. I pray this moment will mark a new era of peace and stability in the region. May the memories of all those lost be a blessing."
