Northern Michigan University Wellbeing Promotions will host the third annual "Mind Over Miles 5k" on Thursday, Oct 8. The event falls the same week as World Mental Health Day, which raises support and awareness around related issues.
Participants will start at the Wildcat Willy statue and take a scenic loop throughout campus. This event aims to encourage attendees to start conversations about mental health.
Registration is available through NMU's ticketing site and closes at 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 14. Those registered by Sept. 14 are guaranteed a race t-shirt. Same-day registration will not be offered; however, attendees are encouraged to pick up their packets near Jamrich 1100 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7. If you cannot make it, packets will be available on race day outside Jamrich from 5-5:45 p.m.
NMU PD with assist with traffic crossings and Superior Timing will conduct official race timing. The race will begin at 6 p.m, with celebrations to follow. Post-race refreshments will be provided by Embers Credit Union. Queen City Running will provide the top finalists in the female, male and non-binary categories with gift cards. ASNMU is sponsoring the hydration station at the halfway point of the course.
