Domestic Violence Awareness Month Events 2025

Join the Office of Domestic Violence Strategies and community partners as we recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). Everyone deserves to have a healthy relationship. If you think that your relationship is abusive, or if you think someone you know is being abused, call the 24-hour Philadelphia Domestic Violence Hotline at (866) 723-3014.

2ndAnnual DV Awareness Walk, Jog, & Run

Benjamin Franklin Bridge
This free, all-ages event features a community walk across the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. Participants are encouraged to wear purple.

iPledge Campaign Press Conference

Join Women Against Abuse for the 18th Annual iPledge® press conference and resource fair. This is a free event.

8th Annual My Purple Path Walk and Fair
Saturday, October 4, 2025| 12-4 p.m.
Collingdale Borough Hall, 800 MacDade Blvd., Collingdale, PA 19023
Join Purple House Project PA for an afternoon of food, music, vendors, speakers, and more at their annual walk and fair raising awareness about the intersection of intimate partner violence and autoimmune disorders. The walk is free, though donations are suggested.

"It's Time:" A Domestic Violence Awareness Month Event

9th Annual Amplifying Our Voices: Empowerment through Poetry & Community

Join Women In Transition for an evening of sharing, healing, and speaking up. There will be an open mic and readings by local poets for DVAM, emceed by 2020-21 Philadelphia's Poet Laureate, Trapeta Mayson. Register for your free ticket, though donations are suggested.

Paint Philly Purple Day

Show your support for survivors and start conversations about domestic violence by wearing purple, the color of the movement to end domestic violence. To join:

  1. Wear your favorite purple outfit and take a selfie.
  2. Post your selfie and share resources about domestic violence or a supportive message with #PaintPhillyPurple
