Experience a free evening of choral excellence with the University Choir and Pitt State Chorale under the direction of Professor Susan Marchant. From timeless classics to contemporary work, the evening promises a dynamic program of rich music that spans cultures, national techniques, and choral traditions.

The Pitt State Dance Minor is hosting the Dance Showcase for community dance studios, teams, companies, and individuals who will compete. A panel of professional dancers and choreographers will serve as judges/adjudicators, providing feedback in the form of audio files to help their growth. It is free and open to the public.
Friday, Nov. 14 | All day | McCray Hall / Sharon Kay Dean Recital Hall
High school students from across the region have the chance to experience a day in the life of a Pitt State music student. Registration is open through Nov. 7 at pittstate.edu/music/music-events.html. They'll visit music classrooms, choral and instrumental rehearsals, world class facilities, engage and connect with music majors, and meet the faculty. Students also will have the opportunity to learn about what it takes to be a music student, including the audition process. It is free, and lunch will be provided.

The Baltimore Consort, which was founded to explore the instrumental music of Shakespeare's time, has an international reputation for vibrant performances and historically accurate interpretations.
The ensemble will perform "Crossing to the New World - Early and Traditional Music in the British Isles, France, and North America."
The ensemble is known for blending the unique sounds of gut- and wire-strung, plucked and bowed strings, and transverse and end-blown flutes and recorders, capped reeds and percussion, creating a rich and colorful sound world that brings this music to life.
Tickets: $15 (general) and $10 (over 65/under 18) at the Pitt State Ticket Office in the Weede Building, online at pittstate.edu/tickets, or at the door an hour before the concert based on availability. Students are admitted free with an ID.
Sunday, Nov. 16 | 3 p.m. | McCray Recital Hall / Sharon Kay Dean Recital Hall
Enjoy an afternoon of high-energy music featuring Assistant Instructional Professor Marie Smith(French horn),adjunct faculty Isaac Hernandez (piano), and Professor Joanne Britz (clarinet).
This free concert will explore physical and energetic heights around the world; fans of epic movie music and/or mountain folk music will especially enjoy it. Pieces will take the audience through the French Alps, North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains, and Scottish Highlands, featuring works by Bozza, Frazelle, Gillie, and Likhuta.
Wednesday, Nov. 19 | 7 p.m. | Bicknell Family Center for the Arts / Linda and Lee Scott Performance Hall
The Pitt State Jazz Band, under the direction of Professor Todd Hastings, will perform a free concert, as will the KMEA District High School Honor Jazz Band comprised of the top jazz students from across the area.
Thursday, Nov. 20 | 7 p.m. | Bicknell Family Center for the Arts / Linda and Lee Scott Performance Hall
The Pitt State Wind Ensemble will perform a free concert directed by Associate Professor Andrew Chybowski.
