Cassidy Secures $14.9 Million for Louisiana Airport Upgrades from His Infrastructure Bill

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $14,887,241.00 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation through his Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The funding will protect against flooding, expand taxiways, rehabilitate pavement, and support airport planning and development.

"I worked to bring this funding home to Louisiana so our airports can keep up with demand and stay safe," said Dr. Cassidy. "These projects help keep our people and our state's economy moving."

Funding Amount Recipient Project Description
$8,150,000.00 Lakefront Management Authority (New Orleans) This grant will provide federal funding to improve airport drainage infrastructure, including construction of culverts, junction boxes, and drainage systems to reduce flooding and bring the airport into compliance with current standards.
$2,961,119.00 Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport This grant will provide federal funding to reconstruct and widen portions of Taxiway F South to meet current safety standards and extend the life of the pavement.
$903,622.00 Chennault International Airport Authority (Lake Charles) This grant will provide federal funding to rehabilitate sections of Taxiways A, B, and C to maintain pavement integrity and extend their useful life.
$800,000.00 Airport Authority District No. 1 Calcasieu Parish (Lake Charles Regional Airport) This grant will provide federal funding to replace outdated airport lighting vault equipment to improve reliability and safety.
$465,000.00 Iberia Parish Airport Authority (Acadiana Regional Airport) This grant will provide federal funding to construct a new aircraft storage hangar to generate revenue and support airport self-sufficiency.
$450,000.00 City of DeQuincy (DeQuincy Industrial Airpark) This grant will provide federal funding to reconstruct drainage infrastructure to better manage stormwater and prevent flooding.
$415,000.00 Airport Authority District No. 1 Calcasieu Parish (Lake Charles Regional Airport) This grant will provide federal funding to repaint and restore airfield markings to improve safety and visibility.
$300,000.00 City of Abbeville (Chris Crusta Memorial Airport) This grant will provide federal funding to update the airport's master plan to guide future development and improvements.
$150,000.00 Houma-Terrebonne Airport Commission This grant will provide federal funding to reconstruct sections of the West Apron pavement to improve safety and extend its lifespan.
$150,000.00 Port of South Louisiana (Executive Regional Airport) This grant will provide federal funding to construct a new aircraft storage hangar to support airport operations and generate revenue.
$142,500.00 England Economic & Industrial Development District (Alexandria International Airport) This grant will provide federal funding to conduct a drainage study to identify improvements needed to manage stormwater.
