Local Student Completes Summer Internship in Congressman Comer’s Madisonville Office

WASHINGTON-Today, Congressman James Comer (R-Ky.) recognized Ann Claire Lutz for completing a summer internship in his Madisonville, Kentucky District office. During her internship, Ann Claire learned about city and county government operations, met and spoke with 1st Congressional District constituents, and assisted Congressman Comer's Field Representatives to ensure local issues were addressed.

"In my Madisonville Office, Ann Claire was a great addition to my team, and I want to thank her for her service to the 1st Congressional District. Her work this summer was critical in helping me and my staff address concerns from constituents across Western Kentucky. Ann Claire has a bright future ahead of her and I look forward to following her future endeavors," Congressman Comer said.

Ann Claire, a Hopkins County native, is a junior at Lipscomb University studying Political Science.

"From this internship, I have gained skills in communication, relationship building, and compassion. I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow from a group of people who genuinely care about Kentucky. This internship was the first step in preparing me for a successful future as a lawyer," said Ms. Lutz.

In Congressman Comer's District offices, interns may be asked to do a variety of things, including day-to-day office work such as answering phones, writing letters and assisting with media clips. In addition, interns may be assigned to assist in various constituent case work or work on District-based projects of importance.
