Campus Ministry Crowning, May 2

All are invited to attend the annual May Crowning on Saturday, May 2, at 9:45 a.m. in the Marian Grotto behind St. Joan of Arc Chapel, followed by Mass in the chapel.

May Crownings are a longstanding tradition in the Roman Catholic Church honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Theotokos, or "Mother of God."

The celebration reflects on Mary's role and significance, recognizing that "the glory of the Blessed Virgin, who is a daughter of Adam and sister to us all, not only does honor to the people of God, but ennobles the entire human family" (Order for Crowning an Image of the Blessed Virgin Mary, No. 5).
