Warren man pleads guilty to Manslaughter

Mount Clemens, Mich. - Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 24-year-old Travis James Holdburg, of Warren, pleaded guilty to a charge stemming from the May 2025, stabbing death of 35-year-old Joshua Schultz.

On Thursday, August 27, 2026, Holdburg appeared before Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Julie Gatti, where he pleaded guilty to Manslaughter.

Holdburg is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Gatti on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. As part of a sentencing agreement, Holdburg will be sentenced to the top of the guidelines.

"This was a senseless crime that took a life. While nothing can undo that loss, the defendant's guilty plea holds him accountable. The rule of law demands consequences for those who commit violent crime," stated Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
