NORTH LITTLE ROCK- Today is the first day of voting in the Special Democratic Primary Election in House District 70, and Arkansas Democrats are celebrating by encouraging all Democratic primary voters to make their voices heard.
Arkansas Democrats Chair Colonel Marcus Jones (Ret.) said:
"We fought hard to ensure that this Special Election would happen within the legally acceptable timeframe, and we successfully compelled the governor to move up the dates for this Special Election. Now, go vote in the Special Democratic Primary to select our nominee for the General Election.
North Little Rock and Sherwood voters have the opportunity to select the Democratic candidate that they want to see flip this district. It's time to go out and be a voter in the Special Democratic primary, and then, we're going to finish the job on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 in the General Election."
Arkansas Democrats Communications Director and House District 70 Voter Micah Wallace said:
"I'm proud to be one of the voters who will cast my ballot in this Special Primary Election. I know that I'm only able to make our voice heard in this election because of the tireless efforts of the state Democratic Party, suing the Governor and the Secretary of State to ensure that voters have representation in the upcoming legislative session where our state budget will be decided.
I could not be more ready to support our nominee, no matter which candidate comes out on top in this race."
Voters in House District 70 have multiple opportunities to cast their ballot in the upcoming special election. Early voting runs from Tuesday, December 30, 2025, through Monday, January 5, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at two convenient locations: the Pulaski County Regional Building in Little Rock and First Christian Church of Sherwood. There is no voting on weekends or on New Year's Day.
Election Day is Tuesday, January 6, 2026, with polls open from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM at assigned polling locations throughout Sherwood and North Little Rock. Find your polling location at https://www.voterview.ar-nova.org/voterview
