The President of the Eurogroup and Minister for Finance of Ireland, Paschal Donohoe, will travel to Slovenia today (Monday) for a series of official engagements. As part of the programme, Minister Donohoe will participate at the conference Unlocking Growth: The Future of Slovenian and European Capital Markets.
The event will gather prominent policymakers and international experts to explore the challenges and opportunities facing capital markets in Slovenia, the European Union, and globally.
In addition, Minister Donohoe will engage in bilateral discussions with Slovenian Finance Minister Klemen Boštjančič and he will also meet with Mr. Christopher Hui, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong SAR Government.
Paschal Donohoe, President of the Eurogroup">The deepening of the Capital Markets Union remains a key priority for the broader stability and growth of the European economy. Strengthening our capital markets is essential for fostering investment, innovation, and job creation across Europe.
In this context, the work being undertaken by countries like Slovenia is incredibly important. By continuing to enhance the integration of our financial markets, we unlock new opportunities for growth and resilience, not only within the euro area but across the EU as a whole.
Within the Eurogroup we have put important political emphasis on supporting efforts at both the European and national level and I am looking forward to discussing Slovenia's important experience in this context.
