Broad Street Infrastructure Improvements: Paving and Closure Notice

AUGUSTA, GA- (September 1, 2025) - Beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2025, paving will beginon the closed portion of Broad Street between 15th Street and St. Sebastian Way. Weather permitting,the paving is expected to take approximately one week. On Monday, September 8, 2025, that sectionof roadway will reopen to through traffic.Also on Monday, September 8, 2025, the full road closure and detour will shift to the next block,Broad Street between St. Sebastian Way and 13th Street. That block will be closed to all traffic, withdetours directing motorists around the closure. Work in this section is expected to continue for severalmonths, weather permitting.Motorists should expect significant delays when traveling through the area. The city stronglyencourages the use of alternate routes to avoid congestion.

The City of Augusta appreciates the public's patience as crews continue progress on this majorinfrastructure project.
