BMC, a leading Turkish manufacturer of military land vehicles, is showcasing its state-of-the-art military vehicles and domestic engine solutions developed by BMC POWER at the SAHA EXPO International Defense & Aerospace Exhibition, held in Istanbul from May 5-9, 2026.
At SAHA EXPO 2026, BMC is showcasing the New ALTAY Tank, which has rolled off the serial production line at our Ankara Facilities; the upgraded KİRPİ II, a new version of the legendary mine-resistant ambush protected vehicle series, with a domestic engine; the ALTUĞ 8x8 Tank Destroyer (105 mm turret), offering multi-mission capability on a single platform with its modular roof structure; and its new vehicle - PAMİR 4x4 Cargo and Personnel Transport Vehicle- developed in alignment with the demands of asymmetric warfare and the field experience of the Turkish Armed Forces, to visitors for the first time.
In addition, engines and powertrain systems developed with 100% Turkish engineering by BMC POWER are also being exhibited at the fair.
The 400 HP TUNA engine, currently in active field service on VURAN and KİRPİ II 4x4 platforms, along with the 1,500 HP BATU engine and transmission system and high-capacity final drive solutions, demonstrate BMC's engineering expertise and domestic production prowess in powertrain technologies.
VEHICLES EXHIBITED AT SAHA EXPO 2026
PAMİR 4x4 - CARGO AND PERSONNEL TRANSPORT VEHICLE
The PAMİR 4x4 Cargo and Personnel Transport Vehicle offers superior performance in both personnel and logistics cargo transport missions. Developed in alignment with the demands of asymmetric warfare and the field experience of the Turkish Armed Forces, the vehicle is designed to provide secure, rapid, and effective solutions for operational missions.
Capable of reaching a maximum speed of 120 km/h, the PAMİR 4x4 delivers effective performance in long-duration operations with its 600-kilometer range. The vehicle features a personnel carrying capacity of 4 within the cab and offers a total transport capacity of 10 personnel members when including the cargo area. Designed as an unarmored platform, it offers flexible utility to adapt to diverse mission requirements.
Standing out with its superior capabilities in challenging terrain, the PAMİR 4x4 can ascend and descend steep slopes of up to 60% gradient, come to a stop and go on the same incline, and operate safely on 30% side slopes. Additionally, the vehicle is capable of operating with a trailer on 30% gradients.
The qualification process for the PAMİR 4x4 Cargo and Personnel Transport Vehicle is currently ongoing with the Land Forces.
NEW ALTAY - MAIN BATTLE TANK
The next-generation main battle tank of Türkiye - the New ALTAY - has been developed to meet all the requirements of the modern battlefield with its high firepower, superior protection, and advanced mobility. The new ALTAY, rolling off the production line at the BMC Ankara Facilities, demonstrates the technological level achieved by the Turkish defense industry through cutting-edge engineering solutions and domestic system integration.
Equipped with a 120 mm main weapon system, the new ALTAY offers high-precision firing capabilities and achieves high accuracy even while on the move, thanks to its advanced fire control system. The tank offers superior protection against ballistic threats, mines, and improvised explosive devices thanks to its composite and reactive armor structure developed in line with modern combat conditions.
Thanks to its high-horsepower powertrain, the New ALTAY delivers superior mobility in challenging terrains and weather conditions, and its improved suspension system enables it to perform effectively across diverse landscapes. Integrated command and control systems provide the crew with maximum operational superiority through sensors that offer 360-degree situational awareness and a modern electronic infrastructure.
Capable of quickly adapting to various mission requirements thanks to its modular design, the new ALTAY also offers high efficiency in maintenance and logistics processes, ensuring sustainability during prolonged operations.
KİRPİ II - MINE-RESISTANT AMBUSH PROTECTED VEHICLE
KİRPİ II, an upgraded version of the KİRPİ platform, elevates both driving dynamics and crew comfort to a new level with its independent suspension system. Featuring a monocoque armored cab structure, a high level of ballistic protection, and advanced safety systems, the vehicle meets the demands of the modern battlefield with its CBRN protection system, automatic fire suppression system, internal communication system, and equipment that can be integrated to meet various mission requirements. It also stands out with its special version featuring an integrated explosive ordance disposal and handling robotic arm.
ALTUĞ 8x8 - TANK DESTROYER (105 mm Weapon Turret)
The ALTUĞ 8x8 Tank Destroyer stands out as a modern armoured combat vehicle, combining high firepower and superior protection on a single platform. Capable of integrating various weapon systems ranging from 7.62 mm to 120 mm, the vehicle provides armoured units with high firepower with its 105 mm turret configuration. Offering high protection against mine and IED threats, the ALTUĞ 8x8 provides superior maneuverability with a payload capacity of up to 8 tons and a four-wheel steering system. Thanks to its modular and interchangeable roof structure, the execution of multiple missions on a single platform becomes possible.
POWERPACK SOLUTIONS EXHIBITED BY BMC POWER
TUNA ENGINE
The TUNA engine, featuring an inline 4-cylinder configuration and an 8.4-liter displacement, produces 400 horsepower. The TUNA engine is currently in active field service on 100 VURAN and KİRPİ II 4x4 platforms. Notable for its high performance and durability, the engine provides an effective solution to operational needs in the field.
BATU ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The BATU engine, featuring a 12-cylinder V-type design and a displacement of 27.3 liters, produces 1500 horsepower. The BATU powerpack, offered with a 6x2 cross-drive transmission system, provides high performance and reliability for heavy armored platforms.
FINAL DRIVE SYSTEM
Operating on a concentric principle, the final drive system provides a critical solution for platforms requiring high torque by increasing 18,000 Nm of input torque to 95,000 Nm of output torque.
