For March, the 2026 NATCA wall calendar features a photo of Harrisburg International ATCT (MDT) taken by local member Cole Smith.

Harrisburg Tower is a level seven FAA tower with 39 NATCA members. The facility services Harrisburg International Airport. Last year, the air traffic controllers at MDT moved over 1.6 million passengers and 56,000 tons of cargo.

Fun fact: the airport land used to be an army base! In 1898, the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army was stationed there. The first airplanes landed at the base in 1918, which was renamed Olmsted Air Force Base after WWII. It was decommissioned as a military base in 1969 and commercial air service began that same year.
