Dog Parks, Sidewalk Renovations to Begin Nov. 3

WORCESTER, Mass. - The City of Worcester Department of Parks, Recreation & Cemetery announced Tuesday two renovation projects that will begin work on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025.

Renovations to the existing Dog Parks located at Beaver Brook and Vernon Hill

Improvements include new pea and rice stone surfacing, benches, trash receptacles, a water bottle filling station, and solar lights at Beaver Brook.

Work is scheduled to begin at Beaver Brook on Nov. 3 and is estimated to last for two months depending on weather. Work at Vernon Hill will begin immediately following Beaver Brook's completion.

Worcester Common Franklin St. Sidewalk Renovation

Work is scheduled to begin on Nov. 3 and is also expected to last for two months. Renovation includes in-kind replacement of approximate 3,000 square feet of the concrete pavers.

Daily construction will be portioned/phased to have minimal impact on pedestrian traffic on sidewalks, crosswalks, pathways, and access to the Worcester Common and City Hall. The Bus Shelter and Bus Stop will remain available for public use for the duration of the project. Detour signage will be installed if needed.
