The Adelphi University College of Nursing and Public Health is reporting strong third-quarter NCLEX pass rates, led by the outstanding performance of its accelerated nursing program students.

Adelphi University is supplying highly skilled nurses at a time when the healthcare industry needs them most.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the nation will see nearly 180,800 openings for registered nurses annually through 2035, driven by retirements and an aging population. Meeting this demand head-on, the Adelphi University College of Nursing and Public Health is reporting strong third-quarter licensure exam pass rates, led by the outstanding performance of its accelerated nursing program students.

"We are thrilled by the steady quarter-over-quarter growth in our 2026 NCLEX results," said Deborah Hunt, PhD '12, dean of the College of Nursing and Public Health. "Equipping our students to pass this exam on their first attempt is a top priority. Through a dedicated NCLEX success team-grounded in evidence-based research, active learning and innovative technology-our faculty are laser-focused on developing the critical thinking, clinical judgment and real-world competencies every future nurse needs to succeed."

Key Q3 NCLEX Performance Highlights

91.67%
first-time Accelerated Nursing (ABSN) program NCLEX pass rate
90.67%* * raising the program's cumulative year-to-date average to 85.76%
May 2026 traditional bachelor of science in nursing graduates first-time pass rate
raising the program's cumulative year-to-date average to 85.76%

To achieve these results, Adelphi's College of Nursing and Public Health implements a comprehensive, outcomes-driven strategy, focused on continuous program evaluation and clinical readiness. Students receive tailored licensure preparation guided by a dedicated NCLEX specialist and supported by ATI test preparation throughout their coursework-culminating in a live review session and predictor exam that helps graduates target key strengths, master clinical judgment and enter practice as confident nurse generalists.

Adelphi's undergraduate nursing program climbed an impressive 14 spots this year in U.S. News & World Report2027 rankings and is now ranked in the top 26 percent nationally. Among Long Island institutions, Adelphi ranks second, behind Stony Brook University (No. 75 nationally) and more than 20 spots ahead of Molloy University (No. 195).

Cutting-Edge Simulation and Strategic New York City Growth

Adelphi's nationally ranked nursing programs enable students to master core clinical knowledge, sharpen critical decision-making skills and build the confidence necessary to transform patient outcomes. Demonstrating this commitment to experiential learning, Adelphi's Clinical Education and Simulation Lab (CESiL) earned accreditation from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare in 2025. This high-tech facility, featuring 22 beds and manikins, provides immersive, real-world scenarios in a risk-free setting-an advantage now mirrored at Adelphi's recently opened Manhattan Center. Both locations harness industry-leading simulation technology, equipping students with the hands-on practice and practical exposure needed to excel in the workplace from day one.

Started earlier this year, Adelphi's Manhattan Center now offers an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, enabling students to earn a nursing degree in just 15 months. Designed for full-time students, the Accelerated BSN program offers the option of starting in May or January.
