FSOP Class of 2026 Ranks #1 in Texas for Match Rates

Celebrating Future Doctors in Pharmacy

In May 2026, graduates of the University of the Incarnate Word's (UIW) Feik School of Pharmacy (FSOP) will cross the commencement stage, officially earning their Doctor of Pharmacy degrees. Just weeks earlier, on March 30, these future pharmacists gathered with classmates, faculty and Dean David Maize, RPh, PhD, to celebrate Match Day, the milestone moment when they revealed where across the country, they will continue their training through residency and fellowship programs.

FSOP's Class of 2026 had a 92% match rate - receiving the highest match rate this year in the state of Texas and in FSOP history.

"Congratulations to all of you (students) that matched your residencies!" said Maize. "I wish you the best of luck in residency. It's tough work, but it's worth it in the end, and you'll get great careers out of going through residency. So do your best and know that the school is very proud of you."

One by one, students announced their match results, then placed a pin on a map of the United States to mark where they will continue their professional training. From New Mexico and Montana to Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina and Texas, the placements reflect the wide-reaching impact of FSOP graduates as they take the next step in their journey as pharmacy professionals.

"On behalf of the FSOP Career-Readiness Committee, congratulations!" said Meera Shah, PharmD, BCIDP, FSOP assistant professor. "We know that this did not happen by chance. It took a lot of hard work, a lot of long days, a lot of long nights and interviews, but you stayed focused, you kept showing up, you kept studying, and you made it to the next step. We are so proud of everything you've accomplished, and we're more excited for what's ahead."

Matched students wore proud smiles as they shared their results with their FSOP community, excited to enter their next chapters, serving those in need and representing FSOP's mission to developing students that will "advance the quality of healthcare in diverse populations" (pharmacy.uiw.edu).

One FSOP 2026 graduate, Brooke Trevino, will continue to grow as a pharmacy professional at her beloved alma mater, as she matched into a residency at FSOP.

"Beginning my residency journey at the place that shaped me feels both grounding and full-circle-an opportunity to give back to the institution that first challenged me to grow," shared Trevino. "As I step into this next chapter, I'm most looking forward to deepening my clinical knowledge, caring for diverse patient populations and continuing to evolve into the critical care pharmacist I aspire to be."

Congratulations, FSOP Class of 2026!
