Montgomery Parks & Recreation Launches New Community Event Series for Seniors, Teens, and Adults

The City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department is introducing two new community-focused program series designed to bring residents together, boost social engagement, and promote healthy, active lifestyles.

Cards & Coffee for Seniors (Ages 65+)

Beginning this month, Chisholm Community Center will host Cards & Coffee, a free social program for seniors ages 65 and older. The series will take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 545 E. Vandiver Blvd.

Participants can enjoy a relaxing morning filled with card games, friendly conversation, and freshly brewed coffee in a warm, welcoming environment. With social interaction and routine activity playing an essential role in senior well-being, Cards & Coffee aims to encourage connection, help residents form new friendships, and provide seniors with a meaningful reason to get out and enjoy their community.

Gaming Nights for Teens & Adults

The department is also launching Gaming Nights, a free evening recreation program running Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Open to both teens and adults, the series offers supervised gaming using popular consoles including Xbox, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC systems.

Whether attendees are seasoned gamers or simply looking for a fun way to unwind, Gaming Nights provides a safe, inclusive space to play, meet new people, and experience the high-quality technology available at Chisholm Community Center.
