NV Energy has restored power to approximately 3,000 customers de-energized for safety because of the Hawk Fire. Approximately 7,000 electric customers and 250 gas customers remain de-energized. Before power can be safely restored, crews will continue to ensure conditions are safe to do so. That effort must be coordinated with NV Energy and the Incident Management Teams leading the response efforts.
Approximately 100 NV Energy structures were damaged or destroyed during the Hawk Fire and 13 NV Energy crews worked throughout the day to repair, rebuild and replace damaged poles and other equipment.
The company understands the urgency of restoring power so that customers can return to their homes to recover from being displaced during Hawk Fire evacuations. Longer outages may be possible in areas where there was sustained damage to equipment that must be repaired.
During incidents such as the Hawk Fire, NV Energy works closely with emergency management officials and first responders to monitor conditions and make decisions that prioritize public safety.
