Blumenthal Statement on $18 Million Contract for Sikorsky to Produce Parts for Helicopters
[Hartford, CT] - U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, today released a statement following the announcement that Sikorsky will receive $18 million from the U.S. Navy to produce rotary rudder blades for H60 aircraft.
"This significant $18 million contract to produce essential parts for military helicopters is great news for Sikorsky and their supply chain. The talented men and women working in Stratford build the finest helicopters in the world and this contract ensures they will be busy for years to come, boosting our local economy and strengthening our national security. I am proud to support our state's defense manufacturers and will keep fighting for more work to be brought to Connecticut," Blumenthal said.
