New guidance: Suicide prevention and response

Comcare has published new practical guidance for employers on preventing and responding to work-related suicide.

To support employers to take a risk-based and trauma-informed approach to suicide prevention and response, we have released new guidance.

It includes practical steps employers can take to manage risks and respond to incidents, as well as:

• a definition of suicidal behaviours
• the risk management process
• what a positive, trauma-informed response looks like
• incident notification requirements
• Comcare's role after an incident.
