TRAFFIC ALERT - Sussex County - Front Street Bridge Painting Project
Front Street Bridge Painting Project
Seaford - The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) will begin work on the Front Street Bridge over the Nanticoke River on Thursday, January 15, 2026, through early-April, as part of a statewide bridge painting program. All cleaning and painting operations at this location will be completed under a full detour of Front Street. The hours of permissible bridge opening are 9pm to 5am. Pedestrian access shall be maintained across the bridge at all times
Detour - Southbound motorists will turn left onto Middleford Rd, right onto US-13 Sussex Hwy, right onto Concord Rd, and arrive back at Front St. Northbound motorists will turn right onto Concord Rd, left onto US-13 Sussex Hwy, left onto Middleford Rd, and arrive back at Front St.
Motorists are reminded to use caution in the work zone and plan for minor travel delays.
