NIRF Ranking 2026 Date Announcement Expected Soon

NIRF Ranking 2026: The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2026 are slated to be released by the Ministry of Education (MoE) in November 2026. The rankings, usually released in August and September, have been delayed this year, and the ministry has not yet announced the revised release date. Category-wise ranking lists will be posted on the official website, nirfindia.org, upon release. The ranking measures colleges and universities based on parameters including teaching resources, research performance, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusiveness, and overall institutional perception.

According to the reports published in October, the release has been postponed as a result of new concerns over research papers and citations published by participating institutions, with particular concerns over retracted research papers. However, the Ministry of Education has yet to confirm the official reason for the delay or provide a new release date. Thus, the proposed release window is November 2026, not an official announcement date.
