Four Teens Arrested for the August Murder of a 16-Year-Old After a Nearby High School Football Game

Meticulous investigation over the past six weeks by MNPD Homicide Unit detectives with assistance from other police department components has resulted in the arrests of four teens for the August 21st murder of Cameron Frierson, 16, on Herman Street at 25th Avenue North after a nearby high school football game.

Charged at Juvenile Court with criminal homicide and engaging in a criminal conspiracy are Jon'quavous Johns-Collins, 18 (who was 17 at the time of the murder), Marcelle Stem Jr., 17, Lil Tay Webster, 17, and Zachkeius Brown, 16.

The investigation shows that the four teens were inside a car from which multiple shots were fired at 10:30 p.m. on August 21st. Frierson was hit and was found by responding officers on the ground. He died shortly after arriving at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Detectives continue to explore the motive for the gunfire.

Detective Holly Davis led the MNPD's work on this case with assistance from her colleagues in the Homicide Unit, Specialized Investigations Division, and the Youth Services Division.
