Norton Rose Fulbright takes home three wins at ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2025

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has won three awards and was shortlisted for six accolades overall at the Asian Legal Business (ALB) Hong Kong Law Awards 2025.

The Hong Kong banking and finance team played a pivotal role in advising Citi, JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley as joint lead arrangers and Citi as agent on Ant Group's US$6.5 billion financing which was awarded "Finance Deal of the Year". This financing marked the second largest transaction in the Asia Pacific loan market in 2024. The team was led by Hong Kong head of banking and finance Victor Sim and supported by partners Yu-En Ong (Singapore) and Alvin Wong (Hong Kong), senior associate Rex Chan (Hong Kong) and associates Abby Chiu (Hong Kong) and Ying Xuan Tan (Singapore).

Partner Harold Tin, who leads the Hong Kong FinTech practice, was named "FinTech Lawyer of the Year" in recognition of his extensive achievements in advising clients on novel issues and innovative projects in the sector. Featuring in the latest issue of ALB Asia magazine, senior registered foreign lawyer Ying Yeo has also been recognized as one of the ALB Hong Kong Rising Stars for 2025, highlighting her outstanding contributions to the team and clients. The Asia FinTech team has previously been honored with several prestigious awards, including "FinTech Law Firm of the Year" at the ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2023, "FinTech and Digital Assets Firm of the Year" by the Asia Legal Awards 2023, and the "Digital Finance Award - International" at the IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards 2024. This most recent achievement further reflects the team's ongoing commitment to the FinTech sector.

Partner Alvin Wong was named 'Young Lawyer of the Year' in celebration of his outstanding work in advising financial institutions and private equity sponsors on some of the market's first and largest financing transactions including the "Finance Deal of the Year" mentioned above.

The firm was also shortlisted in three other categories:

  • M&A Deal of the Year - L'Occitane International Take-Private and Delisting from HKEx
  • Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year - Daniel Ng
