WASHINGTON - Representative Dale Strong (AL-05) applauds the House passage of the final four Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations bills, to fully fund the federal government and complete work on all twelve annual spending bills.
The final four spending bills include Defense; Homeland Security; Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education; and Transportation, Housing and Urban Development. The completion of the annual appropriations process for all twelve spending bills will keep FY26 spending below the projected levels under the continuing resolution, delivering real savings for American taxpayers.
"This final package delivers on the America First agenda by securing our border, supporting our troops, strengthening our economy, and returning more of your hard-earned tax dollars to North Alabama, rather than feeding Washington's bureaucracy. These bills advance President Trump's priorities by cutting wasteful spending and ensuring every dollar works for the American people-not the D.C. swamp," said Congressman Dale Strong.
DEFENSE
The Defense bill reinforces America's military superiority and makes strategic investments to protect the American people from rising global threats. This funding will strengthen missile defense and space programs in support of the Golden Dome initiative and legacy programs of which North Alabama and Redstone Arsenal are integral.
Provides pay increases for America's service members.
Allocates nearly $13.5 billion towards advanced initiatives in support of the Golden Dome for America.
Invests billions in national security missile and space programs, including missile warning and tracking, to ensure the military has real-time global situational awareness.
Boosts production and allows for multi-year procurement authority for munitions made in Alabama that will be critical to winning conflicts with pacing adversaries, like PAC-3, THAAD, Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile, and Standard Missile.
Invests in the modernization and expansion of the solid rocket motor industrial base.
Reaffirms the DoW's core mission by prohibiting funding for non-essential programs, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and Critical Race Theory (CRT).
Provides funding for Army aviation procurement and modernization, including Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), Chinook, Blackhawk, and Apache.
TRANSPORTATION, HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
The Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies bill makes strategic investments in the nation's infrastructure while rolling back far-left housing and climate mandates.
Funds critical transportation priorities, including highways, bridges, rail, aviation, and ports that power commerce and strengthen supply chains.
Ends Green New Deal mandates and far-left grants.
Reduces the federal bureaucracy of Transportation, Housing and Urban Development agencies by 29%.
Cuts wasteful spending, reins in bureaucratic red tape, and speeds up project delivery so taxpayer dollars flow directly into roads, runways, and communities.
HOMELAND SECURITY
The Homeland Security bill advances an America First approach to ensure the safety and resilience of our nation by delivering targeted funding to secure our borders, strengthen frontline operations, and drive real operational effectiveness.
Equips homeland security components with the resources necessary to safeguard air, land, and maritime domains and critical infrastructure from evolving threats.
Surges resources to stop illegal immigration, human trafficking, and deadly fentanyl at the source.
Blocks funding for Biden-era open-border policies and restores enforcement tools that allow agents to detain, remove, and deport those who violate our laws.
LABOR, HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, AND EDUCATION
The Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies bill refocuses funding to ensure parents and families, not Washington bureaucrats, have a voice in their children's education, bolsters rural health services, and safeguards essential pro-life provisions.
Health and Human Services
Maintains the prohibition on federal funding for abortion.
Prioritizes rural health and hospitals at risk of closure.
Expands funding for mental health and substance use treatment, including opioid response, suicide prevention, and first responder training.
Education
Reprioritizes funds to ensure parents and families, who know their child's needs best, are back in charge of their education.
Blocks federal dollars from being used for divisive DEI or Critical Race Theory initiatives.
Aligns education funding with the needs of today and the opportunities of tomorrow, strengthening workforce readiness through investment in skilled technical certification programs.
Strengthens support for students with disabilities through increased investment in special education technology and instructional materials to improve student outcomes.
