Davenport launches 2026 Community Survey

(August 27, 2026) The City of Davenport is launching its 2026 Community Survey, asking residents to give feedback about their experiences living in Davenport, as well as city facilities, services, and programs. This survey is conducted every two years to identify community-wide trends and to inform future decisions, including budget priorities.

"Listening to our residents is one of the most important things we can do as a city," said Mayor Jason Gordon. "This survey gives people an opportunity to tell us what's important to them and where they'd like to see us focus our time and resources."

The survey will initially be sent via e-mail and text message to a random sample of Davenport residents across all eight wards. It will be sent by the independent research firm OnPointe Insights on behalf of the City.

The invitation to participate in the survey will look similar to these email and text message examples. The survey does not ask for passwords, financial information, or other sensitive information.

This year's updated survey format includes a series of ranked-choice and open-ended questions asking residents to identify the services, programs, and investments they value most. It should take about 10 to 12 minutes to complete.

"We've created more opportunities for people to tell us in their own words what they think is important," said Hanna Whitehurst, Property & Special Projects Manager. "Those comments can give us valuable insights we can't get from multiple-choice questions alone."

After two weeks of direct outreach, the survey will open to all using a link posted on the City's social media pages. The City will share a summary of the survey findings with the community following the completion of the research.
