MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ - Middlesex County recently opened a newly constructed, fully inclusive playground at David B. Crabiel Park in Milltown/North Brunswick. The new state-of-the-art facility replaced the park's previous playground with a modern, Jake's Law and ADA-compliant playground designed to encourage exploration, movement, and social play. The project is primarily funded through a $750,000 Green Acres grant from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, reinforcing the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners' commitment to expanding high-quality, inclusive public spaces for residents and visitors.

The new playground features dedicated play zones tailored for children ages 6-23 months, 2-4 years, and 5-12 years, ensuring age-appropriate development and safety. All equipment is set on poured-in-place resilient rubber surfacing, providing enhanced cushioning and accessibility for mobility devices. Additionally, a 650-square-foot quiet play area is located across the ADA-compliant park pathway, offering a calming environment for children who may need reduced sensory stimulation. Fencing is provided around the entire playground. Moreover, convenient access is supported by six ADA-designated parking spaces located within 60 feet of the playground entrance.

David B. Crabiel Park is located off Elkins Lane in Milltown, New Jersey. For more information about Middlesex County parks and recreational spaces, visit middlesexcountynj.gov/parksandrec.
