BSTDB and Agricover Renew Partnership to Boost Romanian Grain Production

Press Release | 19-Jan-2026

Fresh financing will expand access to capital for farmers, strengthen productivity, and reinforce long-standing cooperation.

The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) and Agricover Credit IFN have signed a new EUR 12 million financing agreement to further support the development of Romania's agribusiness sector. The facility will provide affordable financing to farmers across the country, enabling them to enhance productivity, generate added value, and create new employment opportunities at a critical time for the sector.

The agreement marks a renewed chapter in the relationship between BSTDB and Agricover, whose cooperation began in 2013 and has since contributed to the financial strengthening of farmers and SMEs across Romania.

Welcoming the agreement, Dr. Serhat Köksal, President of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, said: "We are proud to continue our partnership with Agricover, one of Romania's most trusted agribusiness institutions. This new agreement reflects our confidence in Agricover's impactful work and in the resilience of Romanian farmers. By expanding access to finance, we are not only reinforcing a relationship built over more than a decade, but also enabling farmers to invest, grow, and continue driving one of Romania's most vital economic sectors."

"Small and medium-sized farmers are at the heart of Romanian agriculture, while they face rising costs, limited collateral, climate volatility, and difficult access to traditional bank lending. As Romania's leading specialized agricultural financier, our mission is to design products that truly fit the way farmers operate - financing aligned with crop cycles, flexible working-capital structures, and long-term solutions that support modernization. Through this new agreement with BSTDB, we can extend accessible, dedicated financing exactly where it is most needed", said Serhan Hacisuleyman, CEO of Agricover Credit IFN.

This latest financing underscores BSTDB's commitment to promoting sustainable economic development in the Black Sea region and to strengthening the competitiveness of key industries such as agriculture.

Agricoveris a leading Romanian agribusiness and agri-finance group with a 25-year track record of supporting farmers and SMEs. The Group operates an integrated service model anchored by Agricover Credit IFN SA ("Agricover Credit" / "Agricover IFN"), one of Romania's largest non-bank financial institutions dedicated to agriculture finance. Agricover's consolidated revenues reached approximately EUR 360.3 million at the end of 2024 and EUR 217.6 million for the first half of 2025, underscoring its robust market presence.
