Cohen & Co Welcomes Partner David Swatosh

Cohen & Co is proud to welcome David Swatosh as a partner in the firm's Tax Practice. Based in Detroit, Michigan, David leads the firm's initiatives related to research and development (R&D) tax credits, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the area.

David's expertise includes advising organizations of all types and sizes on the strategic use of tax credits and incentives to enhance cash flow and reduce total tax liability. He advises clients ranging from development-stage companies to multinational enterprises on tax compliance and consulting matters, helping them identify, quantify and document available tax credits and incentives. He has successfully defended R&D tax credit positions for multiple clients during IRS and state tax authority examinations. David also has experience with the IRS Compliance Assurance Process, collaborating with taxpayers and the IRS to identify and resolve potential R&D credit matters before returns are filed.

A CPA in Michigan, David received his M.S. in taxation from Walsh College, M.S. in accounting from Eastern Michigan University and his B.B.A. from Adrian College.
