CONCORD - Nashua resident Mario Monserrate Morgan, age 41, pleaded guilty today to unarmed bank robbery, U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan announces.
According to court documents and statements, on the afternoon of June 9, 2026, Morgan entered the Citizens Bank located at 238 Main Street in Nashua carrying a black backpack. After waiting in line for a few minutes, Morgan approached the teller station, leaned over the counter with his backpack, and told the teller, "Put the money in the bag and don't press any buttons."
The teller placed $645 into Morgan's backpack and he left the bank. Nashua Police responded to the scene and were able to apprehend Morgan a short distance from the bank approximately 10 minutes after the robbery. Inside Morgan's backpack was the cash from the bank.
Sentencing is set for January 26, 2027. Morgan faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and up to three years of supervised release following incarceration. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes which govern the determination of a sentence in a criminal case.
The Nashua Police Department led the investigation with valuable assistance provided by the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mike Shannon is prosecuting the case.
