October 21, 2026 - Gardners, PA
Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding will announce recipients of nearly $300,000 in Agriculture Promotion Grants to support projects aimed at increasing domestic sales and exports of Pennsylvania agricultural products during his visit to Big Hill Ciderworks.
The grant supports organizations like the PA Cider Guild, whose 2025-26 award focuses on establishing brand identity, expanding marketing efforts, and enhancing their consumer outreach at the Pennsylvania Farm Show and the PA Cider Fest. As a member of the guild, Big Hill Ciderworks benefits from this work.
Founded in 2013, Big Hill Ciderworks operates two farms near Gettysburg, producing more than 40 apple varieties across approximately 40 acres. The cidery manages every step of production, from growing and pressing apples to fermenting, packaging and distributing its products. Using traditional techniques, including slow fermentation and barrel aging, Big Hill crafts distinctive ciders that reflect the character of its orchards and the region.
