On June 2, 2026, the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Guangzhou held its opening ceremony. Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin, Member of the Leading Party Members Group of the People's Government of Guangdong Province Chen Liangxian, Kazakh Ambassador to China Nuryshev Shakhrat, and Consul General of Kazakhstan in Guangzhou Valikhan Sarsenbekov, among others, attended the ceremony.
On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Liu Bin extended congratulations on the opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Guangzhou. He noted that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Kazakhstan relations have been continuously upgraded and have entered a new stage of building a China-Kazakhstan community with a shared future. He expressed the belief that the Consulate General will serve as a new bridge for sub-national exchanges and cooperation and inject fresh impetus into the growth of China-Kazakhstan relations.
Chen Liangxian said that the opening of the Consulate General has created more opportunities for exchanges between Guangdong Province and Kazakhstan at the sub-national level. Guangdong Province is ready to maintain close ties with the Consulate General, fully implement the important common understandings reached by the two leaders, and deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
Nuryshev Shakhrat appreciated the Chinese side for the strong support provided for the opening of the Consulate General, and said that he will actively leverage the role of the Consulate General to make new contributions to the development of Kazakhstan-China relations.
