Manors, make believe and mighty steam trains this half-term in Tewkesbury Borough

There are plenty of reasons for residents and visitors to explore a diverse range of activities on offer in Tewkesbury Borough this February half-term.

From medieval re-enactments and steam train adventures to creative arts and bubble magic, the borough will become a hub of family-friendly entertainment from Saturday, 14 February to Friday, 20 February.

With a mix of low-cost workshops and immersive outdoor experiences, there is something to suit every age group and budget.

Step back in time - Fuel little imaginations with hands on journeys through time:

• Saturday, 14 February - John Moore Museum hosts living history tours, where the House of Hound and Falcon will bring the medieval period to life. Families can learn about calligraphy, fashion, and weaponry from the Lord and Lady of the Manor.

• Wednesday, 18 February - The Roses Theatre invites you to step back in time with Time Travellers: A play in a day, where children aged seven to eleven can create and perform an original play spanning from ancient myths to modern inventors.

Full steam ahead - Create some wonderful memories with whistles and wheels:

• 17 - 20 February - Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway is running trains this half-term and Winchcombe Station will be transformed into a Trainmaster kids playtime zone. To make the week even more accessible, kids' train tickets are half-price throughout the half-term.

Creative hands and curious minds - For the budding artists, the borough offers a wealth of creative opportunities:

• 17 - 20 February - Nature in Art (Twigworth) will host daily themed workshops including yoga and pancake art, paper weaving, winter collages, and papier mache hot air balloons for children aged three and over.

• 17 February - The Spotty Dog Place is holding special glass fusing sessions where children aged eight and over can learn tips and tricks to create their own glass fused picture keepsakes.

• 18 February - Old Baptist Chapel is hosting a flowers craft session for just £1 per child, offering a fun way for children aged three and over to make and decorate spring flowers.

• 19 February - The Roses Theatre will welcome back The Art Bunch, a joyful morning club led by Debbie Nicholds where children aged five to eleven can explore their creativity through hands-on arts and crafts.

• 19 February - The Roses Theatre presents The Bubble Show, a breathtaking theatrical experience for ages two and over that uses soap and water to bring the awe-inspiring legends of Bubbleland to life.

Outdoor exploration - Fresh air, big skies and family adventures can be found across the borough:

• 15 February - Boddington Manor is hosting a Snowdrop afternoon from 2pm to 4.30pm where visitors can enjoy tea in the conservatory alongside plants, books, and jigsaws in aid of local parish churches.

• 20 February - Cleeve Common is holding a Family Fun Friday where children can create a selection of bird feeders to help local wildlife before heading out for a nature stomp across the hill.
